Chris J. Taylor graduated from Kankakee High School in 2011 as Senior Class President and a member of the Kankakee School District #111 Superintendent’s Advisory Council.

During high school he worked as an Intern with the then Kankakee Regional Chamber of Commerce and spent some time writing for the Kankakee Daily Journal during the Kankakee School District 111 Teachers Strike’s.

Taylor is a junior in the College of Communication Information and Media at Ball State University studying Public Relations.

During the 2011-2012 academic year Chris served in various advisory roles for the Student Government Association. The Ball State Multicultural Center awarded him the  Freshman Impact Award for, “exceptional involvement in campus life.”

During the 2012-2013 academic year he served as the Public Relations Chair for the Ball State chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists and Treasurer of the Black Student Association. In November 2012 he covered Election Night in Chicago at Obama Headquarters.

During the summers of 2012 and 2013 Chris served as a Student Orientation Leader for Ball State University’s Office of Admissions and Orientation and as Social Media Intern for the Merchant Street Music Festival in Kankakee, Illinois.

Since January 2012 Chris has worked in various roles within the university’s office of Housing and Residence Life. In May 2013 he began working as a Resident Assistant in a primarily Freshman Living Learning Community.

He will serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Ball State University Student Government Association during the 2013 – 2014 academic year.
